In my previous email I forgot to mention the benefits of Aloe Vera, a key ingredient in Body Butter on sale this week. I also wanted to share my recent conversation with an elderly woman I met at the Health Food store who was checking out in front of me with 2 gallons of Aloe Vera! Understandably, I had to engage her in conversation and I'm so glad that I did! She was lovely, inspired me and I hope she inspires you as well. Our conversation follows ...
“Do you drink it”? “Oh yes, my husband and I drink it each day”. As we chatted about our mutual love for this plant I couldn't help but notice her soft, radiant complexion and her clear, shining eyes (she was in her 70's). She also mentioned that she recently had a hip replacement and that her friends who've had hip replacements all have pain and difficulty and that she has none and feels perfectly fine. Due to our conversation I now drink Aloe Vera each day and although her vitality was enough testament for me, here are additional facts on this beautiful plant:
Historically, Aloe Vera has been known as “Plant of Immortality” and offers an abundant supply of anti-inflammatory properties and a rich supply of vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, and E) and minerals (calcium, iron, potassium, copper, manganese, selenium, sodium, chromium) and more than 20 different amino acids all of which help the skin regenerate and stay healthy.
Aloe improves the digestive system; strengthens the immune system; delays the aging process; cures dermatitis; alleviates menstrual problems; reduces arthritis pain; heals wounds; cures nausea; eliminates ulcers; lowers blood sugar levels; prevents diabetes; promotes hair growth, and soothes acid re-flux symptoms and when applied topically Aloe penetrates to the deepest skin cell layers and is known for healing the skin, wounds and other skin issues.
I formulate Body Butter with a variety of Aloe Vera that utilizes both the inner leaf where a significant amount of nutrients are and its inner gel. If you are inspired to drink Aloe Vera daily, Health Food stores carry two varieties “Aloe Vera” and “Whole Leaf Aloe Vera” and I recommend the Whole Leaf which has a green leaf on the label.
And here's to drinking Aloe Vera and our skin drinking Aloe Vera!
